The early part of David's career was spent at Quantel where he
established the company's Military Electronics Division. Thereafter he
was Technical Director of Kontron Instruments Ltd, part of a major
international medical group. David joined BTG (the world leader in IP
management) in 1990 and initially concentrated on developing BTG's
position in nanotechnology, MEMS and semiconductors. In 1994 he was
appointed Director of BTG's Electronics and Communications Division and
in 1999 became Director of Strategy, Alliances and Marketing. In 2000
David led BTG's RFID new venture investments and in July 2002 he
assumed responsibility for all of BTG's technology acquisition
activities. In 2005 David left BTG to set up RFIP Ltd with Chris
Turner. David has a degree in Electronics from University of
Southampton and an MBA from Henley Management College. He is a

Chris Turner Chief Technical Officer
Chris is an Incorporated Engineer registered with the UK Engineering
Council. He holds an engineering diploma in Radio and Electronics
engineering and has 30 years experience in radio communications and
RFID product development and system engineering. Prior to his
involvement with RFID as technical director of BiStar, Chris headed up
Motorola's development organisation in South Africa. Since 1998, he has
been an active participant in the development of the key RFID
international standards and holds 8 US and 5 European patents in
the field of RFID with another 14 pending in the USA and Europe. Chris
who is chairman of Eurotag is a regular speaker at
International conferences and events and is the technology columnist
for the Eurotag organisation. He has published more than 30 papers in
the field of Radio Communication and RFID technology. cturner@rfip.eu
Ian Pattison Director of Training
Ian is active in the development and implementation of RFID-based
solutions. He has an MBA from Lancaster University. He has 25 years
experience in business process improvement, systems engineering and
programme management. His work in the automotive, consumer products,
defence and pharmaceutical industry sectors includes: · Forecasting,
replenishment and product management systems · Customer service and
supply chain systems across Europe · High volume order processing
systems supported by EDI · High volume warehouse automation systems ·
Improvement of inter-company supply chain processes · Supplier-driven
efficient replenishment systems using Vendor Managed Inventory ·
Organisational change around channels to market and supply chain His
publications include books on selecting distributions systems and a

Sabine Griffiths
Sabine has an MA in languages from Munich University. She did a part
of her degree at the University in Florence, Italy. She is fluent in
German, English, Italian and French. Alongside her studies she worked
for several years in the Sales Department of Cirrus Logic, a US
semiconductor company with offices throughout Europe. After graduating
she spent her early career performing various PR and administration
roles at conferences and exhibitions with international companies,
organizing meetings and interpreting. After relocating to the UK she
worked for the Engineering and Sales Directors at Golden River Traffic
a leading specialist company for highway data systems in the UK. Sabine
is responsible for the RFID Shop and general administration. sgriffiths@rfip.eu
